Kerstin Mogdans and Ingo Faber from the WelcomeCenter Saxony-Anhalt
On June 15, 2023, the 9th Federal Network Meeting of Welcome Centers took place. The Welcome Center Saxony-Anhalt was also on site in Chemnitz to participate in the professional exchange. A total of 150 people from over 50 Welcome Centers took part in the event organized by ZEFAS – Center for Skilled Labor Retention and Good Work.
Kerstin Mogdans, coordinator of the Welcome Center Saxony-Anhalt, found the exchange with the other Welcome Centers from different regions very interesting and was particularly pleased with the wealth of input and the exciting discussions. She was able to compare the status of the other contact points and see how the Welcome Center Saxony-Anhalt compares. She will incorporate the new ideas into her daily work.
Raising awareness among companies about the issue of foreign skilled workers has emerged as a major task for all contact points involved in the integration process. Above all, a welcoming culture in companies and the acceptance and celebration of diversity are supraregional concerns that should be given particular attention.
The event was a complete success and will be repeated next year, jointly organized by the Welcome Centers in Kiel and Hamburg.
