Kerstin Mogdans and Ingo Faber from the WelcomeCenter Saxony-Anhalt
On June 15, 2023, the 9th National Welcome Center Network Meeting took place. The Welcome Center Saxony-Anhalt was also present in Chemnitz to participate in the professional exchange. A total of 150 people from over 50 Welcome Centers attended the event, which was organized by ZEFAS – Center for Securing Skilled Workers and Good Work.
Kerstin Mogdans, Coordinator of the Welcome Center Saxony-Anhalt, found the exchange with the other Welcome Centers from various regions very interesting and was particularly pleased with the wealth of input and the engaging discussion. She was able to compare the current status at the other contact points and assess where the Welcome Center Saxony-Anhalt stands in comparison. She plans to incorporate these new insights into her daily work.
Raising awareness among companies about the topic of foreign skilled workers has emerged as a major area of focus for all contact points involved in the integration process. Above all, a welcoming culture within companies and the acceptance and practice of diversity are cross-regional concerns that should be given special attention.
The event was a complete success and will be repeated next year, jointly organized by the Welcome Centers in Kiel and Hamburg.
