The state seal "The Employee-Oriented Company – I Feel at Home Here" recognizes companies in Saxony-Anhalt that are committed to fostering good working conditions over the long term and meet the minimum standards for quality employment. Since the introduction of the process leading up to the awarding of the state seal on March 26, 2026, 392surveys have already been conducted in Saxony-Anhalt using the Wertenetz© analysis tool. Companies use this tool to identify the values held by their employees and managers and compare them with the reality of the workplace.

With the 2026 awards, the total number of state seals awarded to date rises to 225. Among them are numerous care companies, which account for 25% of all seals awarded—that is, one in every four state seals. The 28 current seal recipients come from a wide variety of regions across the state, including 7 care companies that, through their commitment to good working conditions, make an important contribution to ensuring the quality of care in Saxony-Anhalt.

As part of the Goethe-Institut’s virtual tour of Germany to Saxony-Anhalt on April 10, 2024, our colleagues at the WelcomeCenter Saxony-Anhalt introduced their work and, together with regional stakeholders, showcased our state. Our newly produced video also premiered at this event, which drew participants from 64 countries.

For the fifth time, Petra Grimm-Benne, Saxony-Anhalt’s Minister of Labor, Social Affairs, Health, and Equality, has awarded the state seal of approval titled “The Employee-Oriented Company – I Feel at Home Here.” Companies in Saxony-Anhalt that prioritize a strong corporate culture and have established themselves as attractive employers are honored with this state seal. Employee-oriented practices foster satisfaction and motivation among staff. The following videos showcase some of the diverse ways this can be implemented.

In collaboration with the Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs, Health, and Equality, the Saxony-Anhalt state initiative “Fachkraft im Fokus” is recognizing companies for their employee-focused approach. We visited eight of the recognized companies and created videos capturing what they consider to be the key aspects of a good work environment.

The Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs, Health, and Equality, in collaboration with the state initiative “Fachkraft im Fokus,” is honoring a total of 18 companies from Saxony-Anhalt for their commitment to providing attractive working conditions. Videos were produced in collaboration with the companies to highlight the key aspects of “good work.” These videos premiered during the ceremony to award the state seal “The Employee-Oriented Company – I Feel at Home Here” on November 10, 2021. The state initiative "Fachkraft im Fokus" supports companies, skilled workers already employed here, as well as skilled workers moving to or returning to the state from within Germany and abroad, and their families. Through the WelcomeCenter Sachsen-Anhalt, the state aims to make it easier for those interested in moving here to settle into their old home or new home, and to assist companies that wish to hire skilled workers from abroad with their professional and social integration. (As of June 21, 2021)

The shortage of skilled workers is particularly acute in the nursing sector. However, there is now a shortage not only of skilled staff in nursing facilities, but also of many support staff. For this reason, the state of Saxony-Anhalt, led by the Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs, and Integration, has launched the #PerspektivePflege initiative. (As of July 7, 2021)
