“Quick help for quick responders” is the motto of Rettungstechnik Doll GmbH. For over 10 years, this Schönebeck-based company has been active in the fields of medical device servicing and specialty vehicle manufacturing. With enthusiasm and great dedication, the 14 employees solve problems that need to be solved. They perform safety and metrological inspections of special-purpose vehicles and their equipment, as well as safety and metrological inspections of Class 1 and 2 medical devices and medical equipment. As a registered automotive repair shop, the company specializes in special vehicle construction, particularly for police, fire departments, various government agencies, and emergency services, and is certified according to DIN-ISO 9001:2015 as well as a medical device consultant.
This year, the company participated in the employee survey based on the Wertenetz© framework and qualified for the state seal “The Employee-Oriented Company – I Feel at Home Here.” Our regional business consultant, Norbert Köhn, presented the proud team with their well-deserved certificate.

Reliability for customers and employees

Customer service and reliability are of particularly high importance in this sector. However, the concerns and interests of employees are not neglected either.
Through work-life balance, team-building activities, training, health care, and fair treatment, Rettungstechnik Doll GmbH strives to implement “Good Work” within the company. Benefits such as a fuel allowance, free beverages, and the free provision of high-quality work clothing are well-received by employees.

Our colleague Kerstin Mogdans has already seen for herself how much Karsten Doll cares about his employees’ satisfaction. Ms. Mogdans is a coordinator at the WelcomeCenter Saxony-Anhalt, part of the state initiative “Fachkraft im Fokus.” As part of her multifaceted consulting work, she also raises awareness among business owners about opportunities to implement family-friendly measures. Last year, she conducted a workshop with the management team at Rettungstechnik Doll GmbH to demonstrate, for example, that large investments are not always necessary to implement family-friendly measures within the company.

The Wertenetz© survey provides a snapshot of employee sentiment

To find out how employees generally perceive the benefits offered and what the actual mood within the company is, Rettungstechnik Doll GmbH participated in the anonymous employee survey based on Wertenetz©. Not only were the survey results positive, but employee feedback regarding participation in the Wertenetz© survey was also favorable.
Employees perceived their participation as a sign of appreciation. The survey identified employees’ wishes and ideas and how they might be implemented.

Planned measures for even greater employee satisfaction

Karsten Doll, Managing Director of Rettungstechnik Doll GmbH, is proud to have earned the state seal “The Employee-Oriented Company – I Feel at Home Here” based on the positive survey results. However, he does not intend to rest on his laurels and aims to continue providing his employees with extensive professional development opportunities and to foster team spirit through joint events and sports days. Furthermore, employees are to be supported in balancing work and family life, and their personal needs are to be addressed to the greatest extent possible.

Top performance under the best conditions

The regional consultants for skilled workers supported Rettungstechnik Doll GmbH in shaping the employees’ professional goals.
On the one hand, Ilka Frebel provided information on continuing education opportunities and funding options and helped employees determine which training programs might be suitable for them. Further collaboration in this area is planned for the future, as Managing Director Karsten Doll aims to promote professional development among his employees and actively facilitate it for them.

“The basic idea of ‘good work’ in our company is defined by everyone being satisfied with what they do and by the company and employees advancing personally. Requirements and expectations should largely align so that everyone can perform at their best under the best conditions.” – Karsten Doll, Managing Director of Rettungstechnik Doll GmbH

Additionally, some employees used the KODE® competency and development assessment tool with the help of regional consultants for skilled workers. The analysis was intended, among other things, to determine whether an employee possesses the necessary competencies for a promotion to a management position and feels confident in taking on the new role.

“Ultimately, the goal is mutual benefit and professional growth for all parties. We have also defined corporate guidelines to this end.” – Karsten Doll, Managing Director of Rettungstechnik Doll GmbH

Rettungstechnik Doll GmbH also posts its job listings on the job and skilled worker exchange of Fachkraft im Fokus to find new employees.
In doing so, the Schönebeck-based company is familiar with and utilizes the full range of services offered by the state initiative. The regional consultants from Magdeburg support Rettungstechnik Doll GmbH throughout the entire “Find – Retain – Develop Employees” process.
