The "Returners' Day," an annual event for companies and regions in Saxony-Anhalt, has proven to be a special promotional campaign and information opportunity for people interested in moving to the region, returnees with their families, and people who want to reorient themselves in the job market! On December 27, 2023, numerous in-person events took place once again: Stendal, Quedlinburg, Staßfurt, Dessau-Roßlau, Bitterfeld-Wolfen, Wittenberg, Osterfeld, and Sangerhausen participated in the initiative.
The respective organizers once again rated the campaign as a success, even though visitor numbers were slightly down in some regions compared to previous years. In Stendal and Quedlinburg, however, the response was more positive than in the past. Visitors who attended the events showed considerable interest in what was on offer and had promising discussions with the companies. Accordingly, many of the companies indicated that they were very satisfied with the results and would participate in the campaign again in the future.
The state initiative "Fachkraft im Fokus – WelcomeCenter Sachsen-Anhalt" (Focus on Skilled Workers – WelcomeCenter Saxony-Anhalt) was present in most regions and also held many productive discussions. The focus was on topics such as reorientation in the job market, career opportunities, job search, relocation, and all related aspects such as housing, moving, and childcare.
As the WelcomeCenter of the state of Saxony-Anhalt, we once again participated in this day with our own supraregional online campaign. Interested parties were able to contact advisors directly via a TEAMS video chat and clarify relevant questions about moving to or returning to Saxony-Anhalt. This offer was very well received.
The annual return initiatives in the various regions provide a special incentive to find out about the conditions and support structures in the area. The message from the organizers is therefore: Everyone will be back again on December 27, 2024!
