“Returners’ Day,” an annual event for businesses and regions in Saxony-Anhalt, has proven to be a highly effective promotional campaign and information resource for people interested in moving to the area, returnees and their families, and individuals looking to reorient themselves in the job market! On December 27, 2023, numerous in-person events took place once again: Stendal, Quedlinburg, Staßfurt, Dessau-Roßlau, Bitterfeld-Wolfen, Wittenberg, Osterfeld, and Sangerhausen participated in the initiative.
The respective organizers once again deemed the campaign a success, even though visitor numbers were slightly down in some regions compared to previous years. In Stendal and Quedlinburg, however, organizers were pleased to see greater interest than in the past. Visitors who attended showed clear interest in the offerings and had promising discussions with the companies. Accordingly, many companies indicated that they were very satisfied with the results and would participate in the event again in the future.
The state initiative “Fachkraft im Fokus – WelcomeCenter Sachsen-Anhalt” was on-site in most regions and also held many productive discussions. Topics such as re-entering the job market, career opportunities, job searches, relocating, and all related aspects—including housing, moving, and childcare—were at the forefront.
As the WelcomeCenter of the state of Saxony-Anhalt, we once again participated in this event with our own supraregional online campaign. Through a TEAMS video chat, interested individuals could connect directly with advisors and clarify relevant questions about moving to or returning to Saxony-Anhalt. This offering was very well received.
The annual return initiatives in the various regions provide a special incentive to learn about local conditions and support structures. The organizers’ message is therefore: Everyone is invited to join us again on December 27, 2024!
