Attracting Skilled Workers from Abroad: On December 6, 2023, the WelcomeCenter Saxony-Anhalt, “Make it in Germany,” and the Halle-Dessau Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK) hosted an online information session on this topic. The session traced the path of a skilled worker from abroad to Saxony-Anhalt. During the 90-minute session, the nearly 100 participants received practical, key information about the new Skilled Worker Immigration Act and the support structures in Saxony-Anhalt. The speakers also answered questions regarding the recognition of qualifications, the costs and duration of various stages in the recruitment process, as well as specific age and salary limits for certain residence permits.
