On October 26, 2023, the WelcomeCenter Saxony-Anhalt was invited to lead a workshop on “Recruiting Foreign Skilled Workers” at the Germany-wide meeting of HR managers from the Limbach Group in Dessau-Roßlau. The discussion focused on the following questions: How do skilled workers find their way to Germany? What needs to be done to ensure successful integration? What experiences have the attendees had so far with recruiting foreign skilled workers? Particularly relevant topics included the social integration of new arrivals into the local workforce, the varying approaches to dealing with government agencies, and how to handle private recruitment services.
It became clear that some locations are already very active in recruiting foreign skilled workers, while others gained further incentives and support from the event to follow suit.
