Labor Minister: Good working conditions are a key factor in attracting business
Petra Grimm-Benne, Minister of Labor, Social Affairs, Health, and Equality in Saxony-Anhalt, emphasized at the awards ceremony in the Bauhaus city of Dessau-Roßlau:
“In the competition for skilled workers, fair and respectful working conditions are crucial. A positive work environment where employee participation and appreciation are put into practice has become a key factor in attracting business. Economic success and good working conditions are not opposites—they are mutually dependent. I thank all companies that contribute to promoting Saxony-Anhalt as an attractive place to work.
What companies are doing specifically to secure skilled workers
Among the most commonly used workplace tools for securing skilled workers are:
- Flat hierarchies,
- Family-friendly working hours,
- Health promotion initiatives,
- Training opportunities,
- Team events,
- Subsidies for public transportation
- and much more
State Seal and Values Network©: Making Good Work Visible
The state seal “Employee-Oriented Company – I Feel at Home Here” recognizes companies in Saxony-Anhalt that are committed to good working conditions in the long term and meet minimum standards for good work.
The basis for this is the Wertenetz© analysis tool: Companies use it to capture the values of employees and managers and compare them with the reality of the company’s daily operations. Since the introduction of the process up to the award ceremony on March 26, 2026, 392 surveys using Wertenetz© have already been conducted in Saxony-Anhalt.
With the 2026 award ceremony, the total number of state seals awarded to date will rise to 225. Notably, care companies account for 25% of all seals awarded—that is, one in every four state seals. Among the 27 current seal recipients are 7 care companies that, through their commitment to good working conditions, make an important contribution to ensuring the quality of care in Saxony-Anhalt.
Video Premiere in the Media Library
A special highlight of the ceremony was the premiere of three short videos produced in collaboration with six companies.

Comments from the award-winning companies (2026 ceremony)
"It was only through your dedication, dear Mr. Breier, that we were able to take this step together all the way to the awards ceremony.
It was a magnificent event, and the boss had initially underestimated the significance of it all. He wasn’t aware that this award carried such great weight. But that evening, it dawned on him, and his pride was immense. Now, after 40 years in business, he is reaping the rewards of his and our joint efforts. I,
too, was very proud of the award, honored to attend the event, and delighted to meet such wonderful people. Even the chat with Ms. Grimm-Benne was something you don’t get to do every day.
You, dear Mr. Breier, and the entire team—both those working behind the scenes and those on the front lines—did a fantastic job. It’s rare to see just how much work goes into putting together an event like this so that everything runs smoothly. Kudos for that.
We would be thrilled if we had the chance again this year to work with our colleagues to achieve the state seal."
