On April 24, 2025, a total of 34 companies from Saxony-Anhalt gathered at Golfpark Dessau to receive a special award: the state seal of approval “Employee-Focused Company – I Feel at Home Here.” Together with Petra Grimm-Benne, Minister for Labor, Social Affairs, Health, and Equality, the state initiative “Fachkraft im Fokus” recognized their commitment to attractive working conditions and a values-based corporate culture.
The seal recognizes companies that are committed to creating attractive working conditions in the long term, placing values such as transparency, employee participation, and work-life balance at the center of their efforts. Particularly impressive: 24% of the award recipients are from the healthcare sector—a strong sign for the future and the quality of working conditions in this important field.
“With the state seal, we have been sending a visible signal for good work in the state since 2018. Employee-oriented HR policies are a key success factor—regardless of company size or industry. Especially in the competition for skilled workers, fair and appreciative working conditions are essential. “I thank all the companies that are helping to strengthen Saxony-Anhalt as an attractive place to work,” emphasized Minister Petra Grimm-Benne in her address. Her words underscore the importance of the state seal and the role of the award-winning companies in shaping a sustainable working world.
Since the introduction of the Wertenetz© process in 2018, over 317 companies in Saxony-Anhalt have surveyed their employees to align their actual corporate culture with the expectations of their workforce. Since then, 190 companies have been awarded the state seal—a milestone for value-oriented practices in the workplace.
But the evening offered far more than just awards: The premiere of three inspiring videos provided insights into the practices of the award-winning companies. These videos demonstrate how innovative approaches can strengthen an employee-friendly corporate culture.
This year’s award winners also shared their impressions. The Magdeburg Education Center, which received the award for the fourth time, aptly summarized it in an Instagram post: “Good work must also feel like good work—in a peaceful, free Saxony-Anhalt, where we shape the future together.”
