On June 19, 2023, around 110 people gathered at the Stadthaus Halle (Saale) to exchange ideas with experts and other companies on the recruitment, training, and integration of skilled workers from abroad. The event was hosted by the Welcome Culture and Skilled Worker Recruitment Network, the city of Halle (Saale), and the WelcomeCenter Saxony-Anhalt.
A key finding was that hiring foreign skilled workers works best when it is approached holistically. Both the workforce and the families of the skilled workers should be involved. Equally important is long-term personnel development, in which skilled workers are continuously supported and can develop further in line with their needs. And something else became clear that afternoon: foreign skilled workers have become an integral part of Saxony-Anhalt and represent enormous potential for local companies. Saxony-Anhalt offers numerous support services for companies and skilled workers on all aspects to consider when employing skilled workers from abroad.
