Eric Ohlmann* contacted the state initiative Fachkraft im Fokus (Focus on Skilled Workers) because he wanted to reorient his career. The software developer moved back to Saxony-Anhalt from Munich two years ago, but continued to work from home for a Munich-based IT company.
Working from home made Eric Ohlmann* want to have more contact with other people and pursue a new career in Saxony-Anhalt. In addition to looking for a new job in the IT sector, he was also interested in a career change to become a teacher in Saxony-Anhalt.
Our regional consultant for skilled workers, Nicole Kegel, researched suitable positions in the IT industry for the 38-year-old and supported the software developer in the application process. She also gathered information on career changes to teaching: the possibility of studying should not be ruled out either.
After careful consideration and several discussions, Eric Ohlmann* decided to study teaching in Magdeburg, which he will begin in October 2022.
"I would like to say a big thank you to you, because your support, including conducting the interviews in the IT sector, helped me make this decision," says the prospective student, thanking regional advisor Nicole Kegel for her commitment.
