A welcoming culture is a key issue in the field of integration. On December 16, 2025, the WelcomeCenter Saxony-Anhalt hosted an online seminar entitled "Between skills shortages and diversity – perspectives on welcoming culture in eastern Germany" to facilitate discussion on this topic. The seminar was aimed at people who work in the field of migration, either full-time or on a voluntary basis. With 45 participants, the event was well attended.

Kristina Korte from Minor – Wissenschaft Gesellschaft began by presenting the results of recent surveys on the topic in Saxony-Anhalt. Kerstin Mogdans, coordinator of the WelcomeCenter Saxony-Anhalt, then spoke about welcoming culture in the workplace and presented various approaches and opportunities for companies to help international skilled workers settle in and integrate in the long term. This was followed by a lively discussion in which participants exchanged experiences and developed further perspectives.
