How can advisory institutions in Saxony-Anhalt target EU citizens more effectively and provide them with more tailored support? We discussed this with other advisory centers in Magdeburg on June 25, 2024. It became clear that the target group of EU citizens is anything but homogeneous and has different needs depending on their life situation. Differences relate, for example, to qualification levels, age, and the intended length of stay in Saxony-Anhalt. These differences must also be taken into account when addressing and advising EU citizens. Among other things, we have identified multilingual services in the respective native languages, more targeted initial information on free support services, and the development of structures within the communities as overarching needs. To this end, increased networking and the expansion of information, particularly on local support services, are effective measures.
