The sound of the camera dolly moving along the track, the rapid click-clack of the shutter, the whirring of a drone overhead, a final touch of powder on her nose, and a proud glance at her staff. Kirsten Lehmann, owner of the care service “Pflegedienst Hand in Hand Pflege mit Herz & Verstand” in Bad Schmiedeberg, is very excited.

We are in the middle of filming one of the corporate videos for the 2022 award ceremony of the state seal “The Employee-Oriented Company – I Feel at Home Here.” This is already the second state seal the company will receive on June 2, 2022, at the grand ceremony in Magdeburg’s Johanniskirche. The care service had already received its first state seal in 2021, achieving it at a rapid pace and with top marks. Kirsten Lehmann is very proud of her employee-oriented company. So proud, in fact, that she has also affixed the seal to all of her employees’ vehicles. For her, it’s about the values embodied by the state seal. These values, which are lived out within the company, are now also being communicated to the outside world through the vehicle fleet. This shows clients and other companies that her employees enjoy working for her.
Ms. Lehmann first learned about the state seal “The Employee-Oriented Company – I Feel at Home Here” at an event in October 2020 where the state initiative Fachkraft im Fokus presented the Wertenetz© analysis method. The networking meeting on the topic “The Future of Care” in Wörlitz is the third fully booked event of its kind within a month. This says a lot about the urgency of the topic and, at the same time, about the great interest in it. Our regional consultants Katrin Freytag, Norbert Köhn, and Uwe Hildebrandt are impressed by the very high level of interest in our Wertenetz© employee survey concept at this event as well. Kirsten Lehmann, however, is so enthusiastic that she immediately schedules a consultation for the following day in Dessau with Katrin Freytag, regional consultant for businesses.
Even back then, Ms. Lehmann knew how valuable her employees were and did everything she could to ensure they were and remained satisfied. She funded numerous training and professional development programs, which were well-received. Team-building activities brought the team closer together. Kirsten Lehmann was there for her team around the clock—even while on vacation. But was this approach well-received by her employees? Her motivation for promptly participating in the free employee survey is to take a close look at this and make any necessary adjustments. All employees participated in the very first round. The excellent results of the survey speak for themselves. In the second round, the percentages climbed even higher—despite the adverse conditions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
“My goal, however, is to achieve 100% in my third round to earn the state seal, which is only valid for one year,” emphasizes Kirsten Lehmann, looking to the future, and continues to hope for the strong support of the state initiative ‘Fachkraft im Fokus.’ “What’s more important to me, though, is the journey to get there,” she continues. “I want to keep my employees’ satisfaction at a high level. For example, I’ll resume popular events like summer parties, barbecues, Christmas parties, and group brunches on a regular basis as soon as possible. Because for me, the basic idea of ‘good work’ is a secure job that’s also valued. Job satisfaction. A great team around me and employees who are happy to be there for each other, for our clients, and for me.”
The Wertenetz© analysis method enables a comparison of the values held by employees and managers within a company against the reality of the workplace. It is a way to visualize employee satisfaction and identify potential issues so they can be addressed.
The state seal recognizes companies in Saxony-Anhalt as attractive employers and provides a significant competitive advantage in the race for sought-after skilled workers.
