Transport Institute Reimertshofer Halle GmbH (2020*)

The Reimertshofer driving school has three locations. In Halle (Saale), Herne and Leipzig, it offers driving school training in all classes as well as driving instructor training. There is also the possibility of vocational training, further qualification and company training.

Managing Director Fred Heinzelmann is "always" available for his employees. They are accepted as they are, even with their mistakes. These happen, but should not be repeated too often. Criticism is not voiced in the presence of other employees. Employees are always treated with respect. Mr. Heinzelmann prefers a situational management style. This means that he leads the company individually depending on the situation at hand, e.g. authoritarian or democratic. Employees are asked for their opinions on important decisions, and these opinions are taken into account in the decision-making process. He makes sure that his employees are professionally up to date and also pays for any necessary further training. His motto: "The art of employee management lies in paying attention to the employee's thoughts without losing your own thoughts."

This was triggered by Mr. Heinzelmann's participation as a guest at the award ceremony in 2020, where he learned about the possibility of a cost-neutral employee survey. He wanted to use the survey to find out how employees felt at the company and what he could do to increase employee satisfaction.

The survey has shown that we are on the right track. Nevertheless, there are minor areas where employees feel their needs have not been fully met. One point of criticism was the latest technical design of the workplace. As a result, when the next car was ordered, the driving instructor was asked what equipment he would like to have in it. All his ideas and wishes were implemented. The pay can certainly be better in many companies. Communication within the company needs to be improved, as does the fact that all employees at their workplace try to perform their duties as required.
