How can cooperation on skilled worker immigration procedures be improved? Where can procedures be accelerated and burdens reduced?
The expert exchange "Focus on cooperation: Designing ServicePLUS for foreign skilled workers and companies in Saxony-Anhalt" explored these questions on March 27, 2025. Representatives from the immigration authorities, the WelcomeCenter Saxony-Anhalt, the IQ Network Saxony-Anhalt, the IHK Nord, and other stakeholders from administration and consulting came together to reflect on existing cooperation and develop new joint approaches.
A central theme of the event was the need for a coordinated service culture between the advisory bodies and the executive authorities. The participants agreed that close cooperation and transparent structures can accelerate the decision-making process for skilled worker immigration and sustainably improve the integration of foreign skilled workers in Saxony-Anhalt.
Embedded in lectures and impulse discussions, several workshop formats took place in which representatives of the various participating institutions could get to know each other and engage in exchange.
Particular praise was given to practical examples that illustrated how regional cooperation is already optimizing welcome processes today. In this context, further cooperation efforts were agreed upon in order to adapt proven models in other regions. The focus is on:
- Trust-based networking and relationship building to strengthen synergies between authorities, companies, and advisory centers.
- The creation of a central information page on the WCST portal, where all information and contact points relevant to skilled worker immigration can be found in just a few clicks.
The day impressively demonstrated that Saxony-Anhalt already has a strong structure in place to successfully integrate foreign skilled workers into the labor market and advise companies. The agreements reached lay the foundation for even closer and more efficient cooperation—for a strong and future-oriented Saxony-Anhalt as a destination for immigration.
We would like to thank everyone involved for their valuable contributions and look forward to the next steps in jointly shaping ServicePLUS!
