“Coffee is truly one of those beverages that no company, restaurant, or industry can do without,” Johannes Lübbers is certain, and he is urgently seeking a field service technician for his company—someone for whom mobility is no obstacle. “Rent coffee machines and water dispensers at affordable prices and enjoy the highest quality! Since 1991, we’ve been offering a full-service solution for all things coffee in Saxony-Anhalt, Saxony, Brandenburg, Berlin, and Lower Saxony. Full service is a given for us! Whether it’s a technical issue with the fully automatic coffee machine or the delivery of new refill products, we’re your one-stop shop!”

Johannes Lübbers, managing partner of procon GmbH, reached out to the state initiative “Fachkraft im Fokus” in February 2022. Initially, André Gottschalk, a regional business consultant, addressed the entrepreneur’s inquiry. It soon becomes clear that the company is fully prepared to invite skilled workers with a migration background to job interviews for the full-time position.

Nataliya Detka, the regional advisor at the WelcomeCenter Saxony-Anhalt, supports the entrepreneur in his search for suitable skilled workers and advises him on all matters related to their professional and social integration. She proposes a total of four Ukrainians and Belarusians to Johannes Lübbers as candidates. Two of them are invited for interviews as early as March.

Mr. Rafayevych has been living in Germany for 20 years. He impresses the entrepreneur with his technical expertise and is offered a permanent position as a field service technician with a six-month probationary period. His responsibilities include the maintenance and repair of commercial hot and cold beverage systems. Mr. Rafayevych quickly and competently familiarizes himself with his duties. “He is friendly, kind, reliable, and extremely interested. The company is very satisfied with him. However, there is unfortunately a significant language barrier that could become a problem for procon GmbH,” adds Johannes Lübbers. Mr. Rafayevych is therefore receiving a great deal of support from the company so that he can quickly improve his language skills. He is motivatedly taking a language course alongside his work and is additionally supported by his colleagues. Everyone hopes that Mr. Rafayevych will be able to integrate very quickly, even linguistically, and in doing so, they are proving themselves to be excellent mentors.
